Our Work in the Community
Involvement in the local community is of paramount importance. Where practical we will recruit locally; make links with other local businesses; work with schools in the locality and source goods and services from local suppliers.
Our scope of works in the community includes recycling used plastic cups in to pencils and rulers which we donate to local schools.
We also offer sponsorship to local schools to help them implement programmes to improve the environment and/or local community.
Our Environmental Policy
We aim to carry out all our activities with minimal environmental impact, whilst continually striving to improve the environmental quality of our products and services. To pursue the environmental improvement and ensure our commitment to this policy we will:
- Maintain our environmental management system to the requirements of ISO 14001.
- Comply with, or exceed, all relevant environmental legislation and other requirements relevant to our activities.
- Minimise future occurrences of environmentally damaging incidents resulting from our activities.
- Minimise waste production through the minimisation, recovery and recycling of waste materials and packaging.
- Minimise the air emissions associated with our activities.
- Minimise the energy consumption associated with our activities.
- Minimise the environmental impacts resulting from company expansion.
- Provide training programmes to ensure all employees are environmentally aware and that they have the understanding and skills to implement this policy.
- Establish and maintain liaison with appropriate government agencies to keep the company aware of evolving environmental issues.
- Actively seek and support, suppliers and other bodies with a pro-active approach to reducing environmental impacts and encourage customers to address environmental issues.
- Make this policy publicly available.
Our Ethical Policy
The company will not support or work with organisations which fail to uphold basic human rights within their influence, which are involved in the manufacture or transfer to an oppressive regime, or are involved in the manufacture of products used in the violation of human rights.
The company will not provide support or work with organisations which do not conform to the most widely accepted standards for minimum labour rights or which do not cover the use of under-age or forced labour.
In addition, we do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or any other kind of harassment. The concept of ’mutual respect’ will be one of our guiding principles. Employees are expected to abide by company rules and to be honest and considerate in their various roles.
Procedures have been established to report grievances or suspected inappropriate behaviour to other individuals or organisations. Equally the company will treat dishonest actions and accusations seriously; this may result in disciplinary action in accordance with company rules and disciplinary procedures.
