The brand new Brodericks ‘Touch’ vending concept

New machine, new technology, same great drinks.

Sigma-Touch-Article

Where can you buy a coffee, get a chocolate bar and get to see the latest KitKat advert, whilst going directly to the Cadburys website to check the latest Goo Olympics website?  Manchester Airport is where, and how? through the brand new Brodericks ‘Touch’ vending concept.
The opportunities for brand publicity and cross promotional selling are endless.  When you get your drink, a unique QR barcode on the cup can be scanned with your smart phone, and you are instantly taken into a selected brands website, where you can choose to share your information or ‘blog’ about your experience on Twitter or Facebook.
Sigma-Touch-Article-pic-2The 21st century consumer is now truly engaged with ‘ipad’, ‘tablet’ and ‘touchscreen’ technology and now the household brands can engage with these technology savvy consumers – on-line media is the newest method of communicating with consumers, and to do that at the point of purchase, is an obvious advantage to promote new products, brands and promotions to encourage instant conversion to purchase.  After all in the time of ‘Sky +’ and other digital TV brands, adverts are all too often fast forwarded and when you pass a bill board in your car, how often would you pull over and immediately buy a chocolate bar? – I guess never or very rarely anyway.

Beckham Loves Broderick's Loves Coffee

Becks Whilst it was an emotional return for David Beckham to Old Trafford, it was just as emotional at Terminal 2 where David was presented with a Broderick's Love Coffee cup by Chris Jones, our employee of the month. “I hope it's not the only cup David holds this Summer,” said Chris. The team at Broderick's cheered their hero wishing him all the best in South Africa. It's a wonder that David could still manage to smile even after a 4-0 bashing.

MUFC love Broderick's

Coffee bar 024
Some of our staff at Broderick's coffee house did a bit of celeb spotting when the Manchester United squad passed through on their way to a Champion's League match in Europe. Alex Ferguson, Paul Scholes and Michael Owen were just a few of the faces tempted by our famous Bacon Butties at Manchester Airport's Terminal 2. See below for more photos.

Today: World's Biggest Coffee Morning!

Feelgood

This bright September morning we are happy to be taking part in the world's biggest coffee morning, where people all over the world are going to take time out, have a cuppa, and feel good vibes. It's all in aid of the cancer charity, Macmillan, who we support wholeheartedly. Aren't these cupcakes just adorable? They're decorated with the "Broderick's Love" heart and the Macmillan "Feel Good" cup, and they taste like heaven. Anyhoo, we've organised a fun morning of activities at the Broderick's flagship coffee shop at Manchester Airport's T2. It all kicks off at 4am when we will have a string quintet playing soothing classical music to greet the early risers and yawning, red-eye flyers. The music may pick up speed after the sun rises and we start serving tea and cakes, as well as our famed capuccinos. Our baristas will be showcasing their coffee-art making skills all day long and will offer free classes for customers. We're also hosting a lotto to win a brand-new Wii console. So, friends, enjoy this morning. It's all about feeling good!

GOLD - Coming to a vending machine near you

PF-vending-gold_1426953cRemember that gold vending machine we reported on? Well, they are coming to the UK, according to The Telegraph.

"Holidaymakers passing through Britain's airports could soon have the chance to buy a block of gold from a vending machine, rather than a chocolate bar or a fizzy drink. A German-based company, TG Gold-Super-Markt, has just installed a sophisticated gold vending machine at Frankfurt airport and has plans to roll out 500 of the machines in airports and railway stations in Europe, including Britain" ...MORE

QUALITY CUPS FOR QUALITY COFFEE

CupsBroderick's Love Coffee have secured a deal with Huhtamaki, who will supply cups for its first shop in Manchester Airport's Terminal Two. Huhtamaki will supply the company with 12oz double-wall cups which have been printed with Broderick's Love Coffee design. Owner Peter Broderick said the company - launched by Manchester Vending Services - was looking for a premium product with "excellent insulation". "Serving a lot of passengers who take their drinks away from the lounge means that it is essential that we supply beverages in a quality cup," he said, adding that this is "not only to do the product justice, but for safety reasons too."
