Industry recognition: We win AVS Award

Manchester Vending Services Director John Broderick was the popular winner of the Member of the Year award at a recent AVS conference in Spain. 

Since he first started as an apprentice at his father's firm, John has immersed himself in all aspects of the business and his bubbly personality has won friends throughout the industry for Manchester Vending Services.

"We've put a lot of hard work into keeping the company at the cutting edge of vending in the UK," said Mr Broderick said on collecting the trophy from Associated Vending Services. "But we're a very ambitious company and we've still got a lot of work yet to do in 2009 with the launch of our Broderick's coffee shop, our online shop, and other pan-European ventures."

Fairtrade: Not just a passing fad

FAIR TRADE PRODUCTS are all the rage these days. As consumers and industry leaders become increasingly aware of how the food and drink they consume is made, Fairtrade is no passing fad. Manufacturers and suppliers of commodities such as coffee, tea and chocolate are increasingly under pressure to supply Fairtrade products.  Manchester Vending Services however are proud to be pioneers – supplying Fairtrade coffee, tea and sugar in vending for over twenty years, with the Overseas Development Minister at the time, Claire Short applauding their lead in supporting Fairtrade vending. Managing Director, John Broderick explains: “The  Managing Director, John Broderick explains: “The ability to make ethical choices as a consumer has long been one of our core beliefs,” he said. “But when we started out talking about getting a fair deal, not many people were interested… Now more people are listening.”

Ten years greener

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT has been the modus operandi at Manchester Vending Services ever since we became the first vending company in the country to be awarded the environmental management award ISO 14001, nearly ten years ago. Airport deal tastes sweet

WYTHENSHAWE-based Manchester Vending Services is celebrating an award as best operator for its installation of 105 machines at Manchester Airport in December and January.

The machines have doubled turnover in drinks and snacks and doubled the workforce maintaining them to eight, says managing director John Broderick. In the recent Auto Vending Innovation Awards, his company's success was recognised with a trophy, presented at a ceremony in London.

A taste revolution: The new milk from Milfresh
