Our Work in the Community
Involvement in the local community is of paramount importance. Where practical we will recruit locally; make links with other local businesses; work with schools in the locality and source goods and services from local suppliers...
This bright September morning we are happy to be taking part in the world's biggest coffee morning, where people all over the world are going to take time out, have a cuppa, and feel good vibes. It's all in aid of the cancer charity, Macmillan, who we support wholeheartedly. Aren't these cupcakes just adorable? They're decorated with the "Broderick's Love" heart and the Macmillan "Feel Good" cup, and they taste like heaven. Anyhoo, we've organised a fun morning of activities at the Broderick's flagship coffee shop at Manchester Airport's T2. It all kicks off at 4am when we will have a string quintet playing soothing classical music to greet the early risers and yawning, red-eye flyers. The music may pick up speed after the sun rises and we start serving tea and cakes, as well as our famed capuccinos. Our baristas will be showcasing their coffee-art making skills all day long and will offer free classes for customers. We're also hosting a lotto to win a brand-new Wii console. So, friends, enjoy this morning. It's all about feeling good!
We're taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan, the cancer research charity.
We're inviting you to join us at our offices in Manchester as well as at the Broderick's coffee house at Manchester Airport on Friday 25 September. We'll be pouring coffee, brewing tea, munching freshly baked cakes, and having a chat. Most importantly, we'll be making a donation to Macmillan. We hope you can join us!
Cash-strapped and time-pressured workers are shunning trips to high-street coffee shops in the recession, opting instead for office vending machines, according to an article in The Guardian today. Workers are choosing to stay in and have a 50p drink instead of leaving the office for a £2 drink at the big coffee chains.

Vending machine businesses that embrace change are booming despite the economy, says Manchester Vending director John Broderick.
"I see the credit crunch as a great opportunity for vending companies who know what they're doing," says Mr Broderick as he walks through his company's spotless new premises.
"I see it not as a recession but as a market correction where the old-fashioned companies who don't change with the times will die out like the dinosaurs. The forward-thinking companies, the companies who evolve new ways of doing business, those companies will rule the earth. It's simply Survival of the Fittest. And Manchester Vending are in pretty good shape."
We at Manchester Vending have previously expressed our intention to clean up the vending industry by banning cigarette machines in the UK. And now it seems the British Medical Association are also backing the campaign, as reported in The Telegraph today.
The BME are urging MPs to support proposals in the Health Bill which is debated in the House of Commons for the first time today. The move comes after aYouGov poll found that 65 per cent of Brits supported a complete ban on cigarette vending machines.
